15/8/2021                               ഗ്ലാസ്                                              പി.കെ. സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍                   ( ബർട്ട് ഹാൻസ്ട്രാ ) പ്രശസ്ത ഡച്ച് ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകന്‍ ബര്‍ട്ട് ഹാന്‍സ്ട്ര ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ വരയ്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു. വരകളിലൂടെ അദ്ദേഹം കഥകള്‍ പറയുമായിരുന്നു. (അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവ് ഒരു ചിത്രകാരനായിരുന്നു). ഒപ്പം ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിയില്‍ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. ചലന ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ആകൃഷ്ടനായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ച രീതിയില്‍ ജനപ്രീതി നേടിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സിനിമ എന്ന മാധ്യമത്തിൽ ആകൃഷ്ടനായി. ഹാന്‍സ്ട്രയുടെ ഉത്സാഹത്തിൽ ആകൃഷ്ടനായ ഒരു പ്രാദേശിക സിനിമാ തിയറ്റർ ഉടമ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രൊജക്ഷന്‍ റൂമിൽ നിന്ന് സൌജന്യമായി സിനിമകള്‍ കാണാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചു. ഇതിലൂടെ സിനിമയില്‍ ആമഗ്നനാവാനുള്ള ഹാന്‍സ്ട്രയുടെ ...

RESILIENCE AND INGENUITY IN BACURAU                                        -Santhwana Thomas Bacurau is a Brazilian award-winning,avant-garde film of 2019.This film is the brainchild of Juliano Dornelles and Kleber Mendonca Filho.This film depicts the triumphant story of a minority of people who refused to succumb to the rivals at the face of combat.They fought against the adversaries with much grit and ingenuity.At the onset itself we are told that the sequences portrayed in the film foreshadow events which would take place a few years later.We are to look at this film from a futuristic perspective.As the film commences we are shown coffins which in itself signifies death.We also witness coffins being crushed under the wheels of a truck which denotes even more violence ahead.The following scenes direct us towards a house where everything is set for the funeral of the Matriarc...
