Movies or books?. You ask me and I will answer "none". Not because I am not a fan of the duo, but to avoid any further questions like... Hey, have you watched this film and have you read this book??.. These sorts of questions can make me frustrated. Why prevails such a thought that the movie  you have watched should be watched by everyone.! ( The same is the case with books.) But, let me tell you that I always love suggestions. Weird right? He not only  witnessed the horrors of partition, the most riotous post-colonial moment in the political history of  the Indian subcontinent but produced piercing, brutal accounts of it through his short stories. Manto  didn’t ‘belong’ to any state in the post-colonial sense of ‘belonging’, which is easily translated into  the idea of ‘citizen’. സായ് മിങ്ങ് ലിയാങ്ങും അന്യവത്കരണത്തിന്റെ തണ്ണീര്‍മത്തന്‍ ദിനങ്ങളും                                                 -  Afeef Ahmed                   ( സായ് മിങ് ലിയാങ് ) അബ്ബാസ് കിയറോസ്താമിക്ക് കാറുകളെങ്ങനെയാണോ,അങ്ങനെയാണ് സായ് മിങ്ങ് ലിയാങ്ങിന് തണ്ണീര്‍മത്തനുകള്‍. സായ് ഒരു തായിവാനുകാരനാണ്. സിനിമകള്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്. സായുടെ സിനിമകള്‍ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. സായുടെ സിനിമകള്‍ വളരുന്നതോടൊപ്പം ലീ കാങ്ങ് ഷെങ്ങും വളരുന്നുണ്ട്. ലീ ഒരു നടനാണ്. 1992ല്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ദി റെബല്‍സ് ഓഫ് നിയോണ്‍ ഗോഡ് എന്ന ചിത്രം മുതല്‍ ഈ വര്‍ഷം പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഡെയ്സ് എന്ന ചിത്രം വരെ ലീയും സായ്ക്കൊപ്പമുണ്ട്. ലീ സ്വാഭാവികമായ അക്കാദമിക പരീശീലനങ്ങള്‍ ലഭിച്ച നടനല്ല. എന്നാല്‍ ലീയില്ലാതെ, ലീയുടെ മുഖമില്ലാതെ സിനിമകളെടുക്കാന്‍ തനിക്ക് താല്‍പര്യമില്ലെന്ന് സായ് പറയുന്നുണ്ട്. ലീ കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ സായുടെ സിനിമകളില്‍ ഏറ്റവുമധികം പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാവുക തണ്ണീര്‍മത്തനുകളാണ്. ആഗോളവത്കരണത്തിന്റെയും സ്വകാര്യവത്കരണത്തിന്റെയും ഫലമായി മനുഷ്യമനസ്സുകള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ദൂരത്തിന്റെയും അകല്‍ച്ചയുടെയും രൂപകങ്ങളാണ് പലപ്പോഴും തണ്ണീ
