"What is that"?
' What is that' is a thought provoking video which was released some 12 years ago. Though the video tells a story that most of us might have heard a hundred times, the video is created in such a way that you feel like watching it over and over again.
Soothing background music, meticulous cinematography and fabulous performance of the son and father. With all these elements the director has been able to make the viewers not just watch the video but rather feel the video and grasp the essence of it.
The video tells the story of a very old father and a middle aged son sitting together in a park near their house. It's often said that man starts behaving like a child once they reach old age. Likewise, while sitting in the park the father becomes curious of the sounds of the birds and asks his son " what was that"?, the son replies without any hesitation that it was a sparrow, but the father repeats the question over and over again, this makes the son really angry.And the third time, he replies by bursting out in anger. This made the old man really sad and he walks away. The son too found himself really awkward and starts regretting about it.
Soon the old man arrives with a diary, he turns its pages and gives his son and asks him to read. The son starts reading it.it was about day when this son asked his father "what is that" twenty one times and this father with much happiness and patience replied to his son that it was a sparrow all these twenty one times. This incident touched the son so deeply that he realizes his mistake and the worth of his father. He starts hugging his father, and the hug ofcourse conveyed a millions of emotions not only between the father and the son, but also with the viewers as well..
