Shutter Island.

Movies or books?. You ask me and I will answer "none". Not because I am not a fan of the duo, but to avoid any further questions like... Hey, have you watched this film and have you read this book??.. These sorts of questions can make me frustrated. Why prevails such a thought that the movie  you have watched should be watched by everyone.! ( The same is the case with books.) But, let me tell you that I always love suggestions. Weird right? Let it be. Now let me get to the point.

Two days back, I happened to watch the film, Shutter Island. Would you believe the fact that being a person who goes crazy about thrillers... Got pondered over this movie, that too like no other one watched so far?. That was what happened that evening. My mother always accompanies me in these movie times. But that day, she was in some hurry and she missed a masterpiece, I should say. High time for an introduction, let's move on to the outline of this brain-twister.

The talkie commences when Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule, two U.S. Marshalls are sent to an asylum on an island to investigate the missing of a patient Rachel Solando, a lady who was incorporated for drowning her children. As a part of the investigation, they ask the hospital authorities to turn over the records. In turn, what they encounter is grudging people, be it the staffs or the doctor. Even after interrogating every other one, they find no clues of the whereabouts of Rachel. That was when Teddy starts to have headaches and other health issues. He has offending dreams of his wife Dolores chanal, who was executed by Andrew Laeddis. Later, Teddy tells Chuck about Andrew Laeddis, who is believed to be on the island, as told by his wife in his dreams. He also confesses that it's to find Andrew he took up this mission of finding Rachel.

The story progresses and all of a sudden Rachel is seen appeared in the hospital with no proper explanation. To find a rejoinder for this suspicion, Teddy breaks into Ward C of the hospital where only the violent patients are prisoned. There, Teddy comes across George Noyce who is known before to Teddy. George Noyce warns Teddy that every single person on the island is fooling him, including Chuck. He also says that the doctors over there are experimenting on patients and they all are taken to the lighthouse nearby where they are lobotomized.

Teddy along with Chuck climbs the lighthouse cliff. But they get detached afterwards. Teddy upon reaching the lighthouse sees a cave and discovers a woman hiding there, who is the real Rachel Solando..... It's from here onwards the picture takes the spine chilling turn.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I have decided to stop this piece of writing here. I don't want to excavate the most important part of the movie. To find out what happened to Teddy and Rachel, you have to watch it.

The film is an adaption of the novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane which was published in 2003. This movie which got released in 2010 is directed by Martin Scorsese. Leonardo Dicaprio plays the role of Edward "Teddy" Daniels and Mark Ruffalo is seen playing the part of his partner, Chuck Aule.

No wonders this movie was chosen as one of the top 10 films of 2010.
Give this a shot and you won't regret it.

Exceptionally great!.
