The Finest!

Today, let's divert a bit from the conventional book reviews that I usually pen... How about writing about something that I am obsessed with these days... Ok let's discuss that one this time.

It was a  few months back, I finally found my "obsession". At first, It was a bit monotonous. But as time passed, everything was bang on point. I wished we met earlier. But it's fair. Let's move ahead and grab our talk to the next phase.  With all your consent I am going to introduce you to my craze, my love,(It's obvious that this one is going to be eternal) The mighty AUDIOBOOKS!!!!. I know the majority of you thought the other way around.
Jokes apart... Let me simply explain to you why I adore these unique magical creations the most these days. Don't worry, I won't be giving you 'Five perks of listening to audiobooks', or you could say '10 Advantages of Audiobooks'- The typical cliche labels you could find online. Nothing of that sort is coming by the way. Only my perception. Also, I would love to present those through my experience.

I always spent my summer vacations doing the greatest thing- Procrastination. Once I start, it's hard for me to stop it. Oops!! Once again digressed from the point. Getting back, One day I thought of giving my habit a pause and headed to Youtube to find some books. Obviously to read. That was when I found this app- Storytel. It had a subscription and I gave it an attempt and it was fruitful... It had books from all genres, many languages etc. It had everything a Bibliophile could ever ask for. ( If you are such a one!, No way am I) My first book was The Wings of Fire as that was the only book, I could recognize from the never-ending catalogue. I am certain that no combination of 26 letters in the English Alphabet could define my feeling of how I felt while and after listening to the piece of writing. The text was narrated by the eminent Indian author, playwright Girish Karnad. The background music and other elements enhanced the beauty of the Autobiography.

And thus the journey began there and to date, I have listened to at least two books every month. Not just English, my list includes books from multiple languages, be it Malayalam or Hindi. I also tried a book I had already read- Manjaveyil Maranangal written by Benyamin ( Translated as yellow light deaths). Again, the audiobook gave me a whole new experience. I could visualize every incident elaborated in the novel.

In a nutshell, what I wish to say is that Finding this distinctive way of approaching books gave me goosebumps.  Give it a try and you won't regret it!

The finest!
